Spread your hand

Spread your hand

"Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romain 10:13

"There is no other name which is given among the men, by whom it is necessary to us to be saved." Acts 4:12

A narrative of the Gospel: "Jesus still entered the synagogue; and there was a man there who had the paralyzed hand. They observed Jesus to see if he would cure him the day of the Sabbath, to accuse it. He tells then the man who had the paralyzed hand:

      - Get up there in front of all. Then he tells them:

      - Is it allowed to do good the day of the Sabbath or to hurt? To save the life or to kill? But they kept silent. Having looked at them around with anger, being saddened with the insensitivity of their heart, he tells the man:

      - Spread your hand. He spread him, and the hand was restored.

Then the Pharisees, going out immediately with hérodiens, held advice against Jesus to kill him ". (Marc 3:1-6)

Let us pull two teachings of this text:

      - The stupidity and the heartlessness characterize those who are blinded by the religious pride. To such a point that they already wanted to put to death Jesus who cured them.

      - The moral condition of every man in front of God is similar to that of a disabled person reached by an incurable disease, and this disease, it is its sin. How to be cured of it? Make that said Jesus, to obey him. The paralyzed man spread the hand. He believed, no doubt, Jesus was going to cure him. This movement of faith, it is the one that God asks to obtain the forgiveness of his sins and the eternal life. Jesus Christ can carry out even today this miracle. It is ready to seize the helping hand of the one who feels "paralyzed person by his sin", to free him immediately, and to give him life and peace.
