Visible peace

Visible peace

"The day of the Lord comes as a thief at night. When they will say: "peace and safety", then sudden one destruction will come on them." 1 Thessaloniciens 5:2,3

"My refuge is in God." Psalm 62:7

Fred Kamaka remembers. "Hawaii, December, 1941. I was 17 years old. This morning, I had just arrived at the school. The time was magnificently quiet, the sky as of the velvet, and the air full of flavors of flowers. Small white clouds hung on to the mountain. The view extended below until Pearl Harbor, where eight big warships were at anchor, very visible. There were also eight cruisers of fight, twenty nine destroyers all the American fleet of the Pacific.

Suddenly some planes appeared over the mountain. Then, more and more numerous, they came down in dive to release their bombs. I saw fireballs and clouds of smoke before hearing the explosions. Nobody expected the Japanese attack. The war burst in the Pacific. Terrible consequences were going to follow, up to atom bombs released on Japan."

The day of God's judgment will be even more terrible. The prophets of the Old Testament, Lord Jésus himself and his apostles spoke about it. This day, he too, will arrive without we expect it, but not without the humanity was warned of it in time. God does not want that the men are lost, but that all are saved (1 Timothée 2:4). That is why the Bible, its Word, and the Christians warn them on behalf of God: "we persuade the men: … Be reconciled with God" (2 Corinthians 5:11,20). It is urgent to seize its grace today, appreciatively and been afraid.
