Misleading appearance

"Make sure you: your adversary, the devil, like a roaring lion, prowls around you, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8
"that Satan does not have taken on us, because we are not unaware of its intentions." 2 Corinthians 2:11

The gecko "satanic" is a small reptile living in Madagascar. It owes its name to its ability to the camouflage. Its tail has the shape and the color of a dead sheet, which allows him to go unnoticed to the looks of its enemies or of its prey, on the ground or on a branch. This strategy recalls the way of acting of Satan.

If many of our contemporaries do not believe in the existence of Satan, and even in the laugh, the Bible calls the "father of lies" (John 8:44), "the wicked", "the one who seduces inhabited Earth as a whole" (Revelation 12:9). There is described as a liar and misleading, and resulting with him those who allow themselves to be taken by its tricks. What he proposes seems beautiful and attractive, but it is in fact of traps well elaborated and terribly effective. Also referred to as "the leader of this world" (John 16:11), he knows very well the human nature; it uses of our lusts for lead us to do evil, to disobey God. That is what he has done in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve.

It is important for the Christian to never take lightly Satan, "the enemy", the specialist of the lie, "because we are not unaware of its intentions". It is a past master in the art of disguise, either to attract or for people to forget. But Satan is a defeated enemy by Christ to the cross (Colossians 2:15), even if it is still active, and seeks that he will be able to devour. The Christian who is held in the presence of Christ, the Savior, has not to fear (Romans 8:37).
